BCI opens Innovation award entries for Tucson 2018

Entries for the 2018 Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Innovation Award are now being accepted, the BCI announced on October 12.

The deadline to get them in for next year’s award, which will be presented in Tucson, Arizona, between April 29 and May 1, is February 12.

BCI has issued the following key factors that entrants should bear in mind with their entries:

  • Sustainability
  • Safety
  • Cost
  • Performance
  • Uniqueness
  • Value

Last year’s winner was NorthStar Battery, which won for its Advanced Connected Energy mobile app, an integrated system that allows the user to monitor battery performance remotely.

Other finalists included Advanced Battery Concepts, for its bipolar lead-acid battery; AquaMetals, for its AquaRegining lead recycling system; Daramic, for its EFS and RipTide technology; Gridtential, for its silicon joule technology; Hammond, Inc for its lead-acid battery lab; and Remy Battery, for its FreshStart packaging.
