ViZn Energy Systems denies going out of business
Media reports that the zinc iron flow battery manufacturer ViZn Energy Systems has gone out of business were denied by the firm in other media reports on March 29. BESB was unable to contact ViZn by telephone or email.
A report on March 23 in the local newspaper The Flathead Beacon, which is based near ViZn in Flathead Valley, Montana, said all 70 employees had been laid off and operations had ceased at the facility, in what company officials were hoping was a ‘temporary furlough’ while they sought investors.
The company was reported in another media report by the online agency Energy-Storage News as saying that although most of its staff had been laid off, the firm had not gone out of business altogether.
In January, ViZn appointed Stephen Bonner as president and interim CEO following the resignation of Ron Van Dell, who had been head of the firm since May 2014.
