Virtual 7ISLC starts next week 150 150 Batteries International

August 26, 2021: Preparations for the 7th International Secondary Lead Conference are almost finalized a few days before the bi-annual event, which will this year be held remotely on September 2-3.

More than 20 speakers will cover the usual wide range of topics, including the latest in plant design, equipment, market behaviour and emerging technologies.

Farid Ahmed, Wood Mackenzie principal analyst, lead markets; Doug Lambert, VP battery technology, Wirtz Engineering; Huw Roberts, director of CHR Metals; Ola Hekselman, CEO and co-founder of Solveteq; and Vipin Tyagi, CEO and co-founder of VerdeEn Chemicals will be among the speakers.

“Covid has forced the 2021 event into the virtual world, but as the organizers indicate, the conference will maintain its position as a centre for sharing and learning,” said co-organizer Mark Stevenson.

“Over the past 12 years, the conference has forged its name as the pre-eminent event for the global secondary lead world and having to work in the virtual world will continue this tradition.”

The last session will be a panel question-and-answer session looking at queries raised by delegates throughout the event.

The last physical ISLC was held in Bali, Indonesia, in 2019. The event is normally held to coincide with the Asian Lead Battery Conference, which this year, the 19th time it has been run, has been scheduled for November 3-5. That will also be an online event.
