March 23, 2023: BCI’s Convention + Power Mart Expo in Kentucky is just four weeks away — and this annual event will mark the run up to BCI’s centenary.
As the association limbers up for its 100th anniversary next year, there is a symbolic twist to holding the convention in Louisville. The city was home to Patty and Mildred Hill, two sisters who, in 1896, composed the melody now sung around the world: ‘Happy Birthday to You’.
While the centenary celebrations are still over a year away, there will still be some surprises in store in Kentucky, including finding out the winners of this year’s prestigious 2023 Innovation Award and Amplify Award.
The event will also host the launch of a Poster Research Showcase, which aims to support researchers in university, government and commercial settings in building awareness about the scientific opportunities, advancements and career objectives in the battery industry.
And before the serious business of the convention starts, a number of delegates will tee-off in traditional style — with a day of networking on the greens during the BCI Golf Tournament.
