August 23, 2023: Hammond Group has announced the promotion of two long-term employees, Dan Loosemore and Lisa Derico, to key VP roles.

The company told Batteries International today that Loosemore had recently been appointed VP of Hammond’s North American operations with responsibility for both the Pottstown, Pennsylvania and Hammond, Indiana Oxide plants, in addition to the group’s expander plant.

Loosemore has been with Hammond for over 19 years and has more than 30 years of industry experience.

Derico has been appointed VP of human resources and has responsibility for  employee health and safety. She has been with Hammond for 17 years.

Hammond last December announced mid two senior fellows to guide its Innovation Leadership Council. They are John Miller, recently senior director of engineering for Stryten Energy, and Francisco Trinidad, recently the director of battery technology for Exide Europe.

Hammond president and CEO Terry Murphy said: “Lisa and Dan represent the depth and quality of our management team and our desire to mentor and grow our internal workforce.”

Murphy said Loosemore had shown exceptional management ability in overseeing operations of the expander facility and was ready to take on additional responsibilities.

Derico helped to develop and execute key Hammond goals such as the company’s benefit programs, including 401(k) and employee stock ownership plans, Murphy said.
