April 25, 2019: Hoppecke, the German industrial battery maker, said mid-April it has been able to double its UK service business turnover within three years thanks to growth in its battery and charger rental business.

Its business model provides lead and lithium batteries for forklift trucks on a rental basis, which means downtime is minimized and productivity increased, said operations director Stuart Browne.

“Product availability coupled with our ability to turn around orders quickly has attracted support from major names in the forklift rental market as well as end users such as supermarkets.

“Businesses can hire lead acid and lithium ion batteries when they need them, and to keep costs down, rental agreements are tailored to individual customer needs and include topping up and servicing.”

Hoppecke assembles and stocks its key products at its UK headquarters in Staffordshire. The company has 28 engineers across the UK, which it says is the largest directly employed team of skilled engineers in the industry.
