March 11, 2021: Aqua Metals, the lead recycling firm, announced on March 2 that Molly Zhang and Edward Smith had joined its board as independent directors effective March 1, 2021.

Zhang has three decades of international business experience with senior leadership roles spanning from global operations and technology management to driving businesses growth at Dow Inc and Orica.

Zhang is on the boards of Enerkem, a cleantech company in Montreal Canada, and Gates Industrial Corporation, an industrial products manufacturer in Denver, Colorado. She is also a member of the supervisory board of GEA Group, a global process technology, engineering and manufacturing company, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Smith is the CEO, president and director of SMTC Corporation, with a broad manufacturing footprint in North America. Before this he was president of Avnet Inc and president and chief executive of SMTEK International.

Smith has worked on the public and private boards of SMTEK and ZIVELO and is on the board of SMTC.
