December 3, 2021: Eternity Technologies, founded 10 years ago by the Al Dobowi Group and based in the United Arab Emirates, has started production at its second European subsidiary with a new factory based in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, near Barcelona in Spain.
The firm will use thin tube positive plate technology in its new range of batteries.
A statement from the firm said: “With an area of 8,000m2, this is the second plant that Eternity Technologies has implemented in Europe, with an initial capacity of 240,000 traction cells in the first phase, and a planned expansion by 2023 to reach 400,000 units.”
The firm said it has invested some €5 million ($6 million) in the plant and created 22 new jobs.
The plant, which went live in October, made special mention of the contribution to the plant by European battery machine manufacturers Hadi and Inbatec.
Eternity said it was also presenting its new generation of batteries, QUASAR, with thin tube positive plate technology, in conjunction with carbon nanotubes in the negative plate.
“This offers a high energy density, improved performance, high discharge and fast charging capabilities,” the firm said.
