New BCI group calls for women in batteries to join

January 27, 2022: Battery Council International on January 20 said it had founded the Women in the Global Battery Industry organization and is encouraging professional women in the sector to apply to join.

WGBI has been founded ‘to promote, develop and advance women in all facets of the battery industry’.

“WGBI believes that women in similar industries can derive benefit for themselves and their companies through relationship building, education and shared knowledge,” BCI says.

The group will focus on for key elements: networking, professional growth, education and mentorship, with programmes and activities designed ‘to enhance members’ skills and experience, address industry challenge and promote career growth with the ultimate goal of increasing the number of women employed in the battery industry’.

The cost is minimal – just $100 a year for industry professionals and $35 for academics.
