Operations at the plant had been suspended as a precautionary measure before cyclone Biparjoy made landfall on June 16.
Gravita said the cyclone caused unspecified damage to Mundra and the suspension of operations was expected to continue for a few days.
Overall damage will be assessed once weather conditions have normalized, the company said.
Batteries International reported on April 28 that lead recycling capacity at Mundra had been increased by 40,500 tonnes per annum.
Gravita said in a regulatory announcement that the expansion took overall recycling capacity at the flagship facility to 60,000 tpa.
Around 19,500 tpa of the new capacity came from switching some recycling from the firm’s existing facility at Gandhidham, about 60km northeast.
