August 23, 2023: Jianwei Chang has been promoted to the post of CEO of Leoch as of August 10.

The lead and lithium battery manufacturing group said Chiang, who joined Leoch as CFO in January 2022, will serve a three-year term.

Before Leoch, Chiang was deputy general manager of the finance department of international trade and development firm Shanghai Pengxin Group and CFO of the Shanghai Pengxin Agricultural Investment Group.

He succeeds Haiyan Yin — who has been appointed director of the group’s PRC marketing department and who will continue as an executive director.

Yin became CEO in July 2018, having joined Leoch in 2004 as manager of the finance department. She subsequently held a number of other posts, including finance department VP, before becoming CEO.

Singapore-headquartered Leoch signed an agreement last month to acquire a 70% stake in Tianjin GS Battery and Yuasa Battery Shunde, as well as forming a joint venture entity with Japan-based Yuasa.

The group also plans to build a manufacturing plant in Mexico to ramp up its market presence in the Americas.
