August 2, 2024: US renewables developer Elio Energy Group and Italian energy and digital transition promoter, Redelfi, announced mid-July their intention to set up a platform to develop up to 2.4GW of battery storage projects across the US.
The partnership, named Redelio Renewables, will run as a joint venture. Under the plan, Redelfi — headquartered in Genoa and listed on the Euronext Growth segment of the Italian Stock Exchange — will deal with financing, project management and development monitoring, while Elio, which already has an active renewable energy pipeline of 7GW, will handle all technical and operational activities.
The platform already has a 920MW pipeline of identified projects across the states of Texas, Tennessee, Alabama and Kansas.
“The establishment of Redelio Renewables aligns with our goal to deliver excellence across projects and is a testament to our ongoing efforts in identifying key markets and working closely with the local communities to ensure long-term success,” said Daven Mehta, CEO of Elio Group.
Redelfi already has BESS infrastructure projects in Italy and the US: two active pipelines of 1.2GW in the US and 4.3GW in Italy.
