March 25, 2026: European battery manufacturer the Sunlight Group has announced promotions for two executives and recruitment from outside the firm as it ramps up its international expansion.

The Greece-based lead and lithium company said on March 19 Antonis Papadas had been appointed CFO, with Antonis Theologitis taking up the post of COO.

Meanwhile, Eleni Drakopoulou, who has more than 20 years of experience in human resources management at multinationals including Coca-Cola Hellenic, has joined the company as chief human resources officer.

Papadas, who has most recently led Sunlight’s finance and M&A departments, has more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, with 13 years in executive positions at the battery group.

Sunlight said Papadas had significantly contributed to the group’s financial stability and its development as an international organization, responsible for overall financial planning, optimizing the investment portfolio and ensuring the group’s growth globally.

Theologitis has more than 15 years of experience in supply chain and operations. Since 2020, he has played a key role in the group’s operational transformation, progressively assuming positions of increasing responsibility.

He will focus on deploying artificial intelligence and robotics to boost operations at facilities in 14 countries and boost the group’s supply chain serving 115 countries.

Group CEO Lambros Bisalas said: “The promotions of Papadas and Theologitis, two executives who have grown within Sunlight, reaffirm the importance we place on developing our people. The addition of Drakopoulou further strengthens our leadership team.”

Sunlight, part of the Olympica Group, announced the appointment last July of Matthias Fischer as its new chairman.

Batteries International reported last November that Sunlight had launched operations at its €21 million ($24 million) logistics center in Xanthi to underpin its expanding operations in European and international markets.
