November 24, 2022: A piece of neglected news amid some of the debates over the FIFA World Cup being held in Qatar.

Chinese battery manufacturer Leoch, with a now expanding footprint internationally, has supplied 1,269 pieces of its LPGS12-75 hybrid gel batteries to the Qatar Stadium. They are being deployed in solar lighting applications throughout the state-of-the-art Qatar Stadium as part of the tournament’s effort in delivering a carbon-neutral future. The batteries can be stored at 20°C-50°C.

“Sustainability has been at the heart of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 from the very start and we are proud to support their efforts in reaching decarbonization,” says a Leoch statement.
