January 28, 2021: Sunlight Systems, the Greece-based lead and lithium battery maker and recycler, announced in January that it is updating its image with a new tagline and logo along with new executives to lead its lithium battery innovation.
The company, which now uses the tagline ‘Power is Knowledge’, plans to open a subsidiary in the US state of North Carolina.
“Our new corporate identity signifies the change we want to bring to the entire energy ecosystem, by providing top tech solutions in the sector,” said marketing director Ioanna Gavrielatou.
Sunlight announced on December 17 that it had joined forces with BMG Energy join forces to create a large-scale sales and service organization which will enable them to further expand in the Italian market and become a market leader. This will lead to newly formed joint entity that will be owned 78% by Sunlight and 22% by BMG Energy.
“This move is part of Sunlight’s strategy to establish a strong presence in large markets,” says the firm. “In the Italian market Sunlight is rapidly increasing its footprint with a total investment plan reaching €5 million ($6 million) for the years 2018-2022. The outlook for the next five years is to expand dramatically the revenues targeting a 9 figures range.
“Sunlight has already a significant presence in Italy through its assembly unit, SEBA (Sunlight European Battery Assembly), established in 2018 in Verona. The business model of SEBA os to serve western European markets with complete batteries as well as OEMs in Europe.”
Sunlight is a member of the Olympia Group, which has a foothold in 10 countries and industries including telecoms and retail as well as energy storage.
