April 24, 2026: The Sunlight Group has announced a milestone year in training of the next generation of energy storage industry professionals.
The Greece-based lead and lithium group said its Sunlight Academy welcomed 1,000 students to its facilities in Xanthi and Komotini in 2025 — double the number from 2024 and a quadrupling of the intake compared to 2023.
Sunlight said the escalation of training confirms the academy’s expansion as an institution that connects the younger generation in Greece’s regions with technological innovation.
The academy offers young people an opportunity to experience up close the core of the production process and technological innovation, enhance understanding of the scale of operations and meet production executives.
Kostas Paspalas, Xanthi complex general director, said the group’s facilities are a living laboratory.
“Sunlight Academy offers not just a tour, but direct access to energy technology and the broad ecosystem of professions developing around it. Our goal is to stimulate curiosity so that young people can envision their future and create it starting in their own community.”
Batteries International reported last November that Sunlight had launched operations at its €21 million ($24 million) logistics center in Xanthi to underpin its expanding operations in European and international markets.
