December 16, 2021: Lead and lithium battery maker Stryten Energy on December 7 said it had bought Tulip Richardson Manufacturing, which makes injection moulding products for the industrial and automotive lead battery industry.
It means the staff headcount at Stryten will be expanded by 500.
TRM has four battery component manufacturing facilities in the US, which will join Stryten Energy’s battery and component manufacturing facility footprint under the Stryten Energy company name, the firm says.
TRM, already a supplier to Stryten, was launched in March 2019, when Richardson Molding and Tulip Molded Plastics Corporation merged.
As well as battery components including lead battery terminals for SLI, industrial and motive batteries, the firm makes other lead products such as ammunition and extruded lead.
Its injected moulded containers include battery cases and its engineered resins are used for battery containers as well as other non-battery products.
“TRM has been a valued supplier to Stryten Energy and is key to helping grow our manufacturing capacity of premier energy storage solutions,” said Stryten CEO Tim Vargo.
“Stryten is committed to expanding output and maximizing capacity to deliver the materials and components that customers need.”
In November, Stryten bought Galvion Vehicle Power, a developer of protective equipment and lithium batteries.
