Radhakrishnan to help Amara Raja business drive

November 2, 2025: India’s Amara Raja Energy & Mobility said on October 28 the company had appointed w as automotive chief business officer for the domestic and several South Asian markets.

The lead battery major said Chandrasekar, who has extensive experience in sectors including EVs and telecoms, has joined the company from Hero MotoCorp, where he was the head of business growth for emerging mobility.

Chandrasekhar’s appointment was effective October 27. He will be responsible for driving the company’s business strategy in India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation — an intergovernmental organization comprising eight South Asian countries.

Batteries International reported last month that Amara Raja’s lead battery sales accounted for more than 95% of consolidated revenue totalling Rs3,401 crore ($386 million) for the first quarter of its financial year.

Overall growth of the firm’s mainstay lead acid battery line was nearly 5% on a year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, the company opened a base in Dubai, in a move the battery giant said would boost business in the region and serve as a hub for customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
