November 28, 2025: Italian engineering and lead recycling tech company Engitec Technologies has become the latest member of the US Association of Battery Recyclers.
The company said on November 26 that it had formally been accepted as a member of the association as of the fourth quarter of this year.
The association represents major operators in North and South America who are involved in the recycling of used lead batteries.
Sales manager Daniele Silla gave a presentation of the firm’s technologies during a meeting of the association held in Savannah, Georgia, earlier this month.
Engitec, which is also a member of the International Lead Association, said the move marked another important step towards having a “structured presence” overseas.
Engitec announced last year that it would deploy its innovative lead battery recycling technology to Ivory Coast.
The company’s system for the West African nation included a breaking and separation station, foundry and refinery,
ingot caster and pollution control system that can process up to 12,000 tonnes annually of waste lead batteries.
Engitec’s Ivory Coast deal came a year after it won its first equipment supply contract in Brazil — to deliver a lead battery recycling plant to Moura Batteries.
