Lead and lithium battery producer Exide Technologies has unveiled an LFP powered modular BESS, Solition Powerflex, offering what the firm said is a scalable storage system to give businesses energy resilience.
The BESS has modular architecture supporting the connection of up to 15 units in parallel, providing a scalable solution for commercial and industrial facilities, e-mobility infrastructure, renewable energy projects, agriculture and biogas applications.
Exide said on October 12 each unit delivers 125kW of power and 261kWh of energy capacity, with an integrated battery and power conversion system and plug-and-play design for fast deployment.
The BESS comprises liquid cooling, integrated fire suppression and advanced monitoring capabilities.
Powerflex incorporates a European-built storage control system which Exide said provides a single platform for connecting energy storage with site operations, generation systems, grid operators and market participants. The system also supports applications including peak shaving.
Serge Arbes, Exide’s senior business director for global energy solutions, said:
“Organisations are increasingly seeking to improve energy resilience, integrate renewable generation and optimise energy costs. Solition Powerflex has been designed to address these evolving requirements.”
Earlier this year, Exide hailed key milestones achieved in emissions reduction and recycling in its latest sustainability report, after being re-awarded a gold award from global business sustainably rating provider, EcoVadis.
