April 1, 2026: Amara Raja Energy & Mobility has announced two senior management appointments to boost development of battery tech for EVs, energy storage and extend the firm’s international presence.

The lead battery giant and lithium developer said on April 1 Dwarakanadha Reddy B had been appointed head of business at the group’s Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies (ARACT) subsidiary, succeeding Indeevar Govardhanagiri.

Divakar Sukumaran was named international chief marketing officer of the group, succeeding Vijayanand Samudrala.

Amara Raja said Govardhanagiri and Samudrala’s terms of office ended on March 31. The company also confirmed that C Narasimhulu Naidu, whose planned retirement was announced earlier this year, stepped down on the same day.

Reddy has nearly 30 years’ business experience across manufacturing, supply chain management and infrastructure. At ARACT, he will lead activities across advanced cell, battery pack and BESS manufacturing — which Amara Raja said will accelerate the group’s operations in EVs and battery storage in support of India’s energy transition.

Sukumaran has spent more than 25 years in sales and marketing across diverse industries and has held senior posts at Amara Raja including Asia-Pacific head of business for the group.

The appointments are the latest in a series of executive changes, including that of Narayan Sudhakar Choudhary as chief operating officer of the company last January.
