February 20, 2026: Turkish battery equipment company Batek Makina has named Kemal Ata as the firm’s new CEO, succeeding Mehmet Ali Bayraktar.
Batek said on February 11 Bayraktar was stepping down to pursue new professional opportunities and praised him for his significant contributions and leadership.
“We sincerely thank him for his dedication and achievements and wish him continued success in future endeavours,” Batek said.
Ata, who was appointed as of February 2, had previously been a long-standing member of the Batek board and has 17 years industry experience.
A board statement said Ata was well positioned to lead the company into the future and its operational focus would continue with the same commitment and momentum.
Batek formally acquired Italian formation firm Bertola and its subsidiary Moran in January 2021. Bertola is one of the oldest firms in the battery charging equipment industry, having founded its formation business in 1958 in Italy.
Batek held an event at its manufacturing plant near Istanbul in 2022 to mark its 20th anniversary.
