November 2, 2025: C&D Technologies said on October 29 it had secured a lead battery-powered UPS backup deal for a datacenter tailored to protect sensitive patient data for a major US healthcare provider.
C&D’s XT series 2XTHC-27 flooded batteries will be used in the scalable UPS project for the unnamed healthcare organization, said to be one of the largest in the country.
C&D said its XT-Series flooded batteries, with a design lifetime of 20 years, provide superior performance and reliability for datacenter and telecom applications.
Key features include a leak-free design using a heli-arc welding process unique to C&D. Low-maintenance lead-calcium alloy extends watering intervals and the battery design is optimized for high-rate, short duration discharges, the company said.
XT stationary batteries are already being used across a range of applications including network operations centers, semiconductor manufacturing, banks and financial markets and power generation plants.
Last April, C&D announced a new partnership agreement with AJ Energie to power the energy storage market for datacenters, telecoms and utilities in Quebec.
C&D said the agreement built on an existing business relationship with AJ Energie, which supports a range of battery types including VRLA, VLA and lithium.
