March 19, 2026: Clarios has appointed Chris Courts as chief legal officer to succeed Claudio Morfe, who is to retire in July.

The battery manufacturer announced on March 16 that Courts was joining its executive leadership team.

Courts joins Clarios with more than 24 years of international legal and governance experience including in the US and Europe.

He most recently served as executive VP and chief legal officer at aluminium rolling and recycling business, Novelis, where he oversaw global legal strategy, corporate governance, risk management and regulatory affairs.

Clarios president and CEO Mark Wallace said Courts has a strong track record of partnering with businesses to drive sustainable, long-term growth.

“His leadership, industry expertise, and commitment to the highest ethical standards make him an outstanding addition to our executive leadership team.”

Wallace praised Morfe’s decade of service to the company, saying he would continue to support the transition until his retirement.
