April 22, 2026: East Penn Manufacturing is launching a ‘double reward’ return-to-recycle event this weekend to turbocharge support for battery recycling.
The company is hosting its Power2Recycle drive-through initiative on Saturday, April 25, near its manufacturing site in Lyon Station, Pennsylvania — and for one day only those returning batteries will receive double the normal reimbursement for doing so.
From 8:00-noon, batteries can be returned to East Penn’s administration building parking lot, across the street from the plant. Those returning batteries can stay in their vehicles while East Penn team members safely remove the batteries.
Returns will be limited to three batteries per vehicle and participants will need to show valid ID. Batteries must be golf cart size or smaller. Only lead batteries will be accepted (no lithium, alkaline, or other chemistries).
There will also be giveaways for children and opportunities to win prizes and learn more about sustainable recycling practices.
No appointment is necessary and the event will be held rain or shine, unless conditions are deemed unsafe.
East Penn said Power2Recycle reflects its commitment to responsible, closed-loop recycling, making it easy for the community and customers to properly return used batteries.
“Lead batteries remain the most recyclable consumer product in the world. This event ensures they are processed locally and transformed into new products, helping protect the environment while supporting a more sustainable future.”
