June 2, 2022: EUROBAT has unveiled a new website that highlights the myriad of applications supported by automotive and industrial batteries — and the benefits the mix of technologies provide in powering mobility, energy storage and ensuring continuity of supply.

The new website showcases the connections between lead, lithium, nickel and sodium-based batteries and their applications under current European Union legislation and initiatives in support of the EU’s ‘Green Deal’ plans to become carbon neutral by 2050.

Videos, high quality imagery and animations are also used to give website visitors “a more compelling and appealing experience,” EUROBAT said.

EUROBAT’s director of communications and stewardship, Gert Meylemans, said: “We want to reach out to all of our important stakeholders, from policymakers to end-users and have now added more general business-to-consumer content.”

Meylemans said coverage of the association’s work on policy across EU areas of interest was “undoubtedly still among the most important sections on the website”.

However, he said a new ‘Batteries 101’ section explains how batteries work, where they come from and the benefits they bring, because: “Today, people take batteries for granted and forget what a world without batteries would look like.”
