March 20, 2025: Hoppecke has been named among Germany’s 500 ‘world market leaders’.

Every year, the list is compiled by Switzerland’s University of St Gallen in cooperation with German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche.

The lead battery manufacturer said on March 5 that the accolade put it in the same league as some of the economic giants in Germany, where the firm is headquartered.

To be considered for listing, companies must fulfil strict criteria including having global market leadership in at least one relevant segment, at least 50% of sales derived internationally across three continents, plus annual turnover of at least €50 million ($55 million).

Earlier this year Hoppecke secured its second consecutive platinum medal from business sustainability ratings firm EcoVadis.

That followed the unveiling of Hoppecke’s new ‘Clean Lead R3’ branding. R3 — signifying the ‘robust, resilient and recyclable’ properties of lead technology — underscores continuous development of lead and improved manufacturing processes, the company said.
