February 14, 2025: Lead and lithium battery manufacturer Hoppecke has secured its second consecutive platinum medal from business sustainability ratings firm EcoVadis.

The European company said on January 28 it had been awarded the Platinum Medal, reaffirming the battery major’s ranking in the top 1% of all firms assessed by EcoVadis over the past 12 months.

Assessments are based on companies’ reviews of business practices relating to the environment, ethics, labour and human rights and sustainable procurement.

EcoVadis assesses more than 100,000 companies across 175 countries annually.

Hoppecke Group CEO Marc Zoellner said thinking and acting sustainably is not just a goal but a way of life for the battery giant.

Receiving the EcoVadis award for a second time shows Hoppecke’s work is paying off, he said.

Last month, Hoppecke unveiled its new ‘Clean Lead R3’ branding to underscore the group’s development of advanced lead products.
