April 21, 2023: Roger Miksad (pictured) has been promoted to president and executive director of Battery Council International, the trade body is announcing today.
The promotion of Miksad, previously BCI’s executive VP and general counsel, comes as the North American industry association starts to gather for its 2023 annual convention in Kentucky — and as it prepares to mark its centenary next year.
Also effective as of today Chris Pruitt, president of the BCI board from 2021-2023, has been elected by the BCI membership to the newly created post of chairman of the board.
In Miksad’s new position, he will serve as an ex-officio member of the board, “bringing his extensive experience and expertise to bear on the organization’s strategic direction and decision-making processes,” BCI said.
He will continue to work as general counsel.
Pruitt said: “Through his longstanding dedication to the industry and commitment to upholding the highest standards of excellence for the association, Roger has earned the trust and respect of his colleagues and peers.
“I have no doubt that his strategic vision and leadership will guide us in the right direction, and that BCI will continue to be a driving force for innovation within the battery industry for many years to come.”
Miksad said: “The battery industry plays a vital role in enabling the transition to less carbon-intensive energy sources. I’m excited to lead BCI in providing the necessary services and representation to our members during this transformative era.”
Miksad said BCI was well positioned to be at the forefront of the electrified future and would continue to be a strong advocate for its members and foster progress within the industry.
The full BCI board elected by the body’s members effective April 21 is as follows:
