Alexander van Laack has been appointed chief technology officer of Clarios, the battery giant announced on May 13.

Van Laack joined Clarios in 2024 as VP of sales for original equipment in the Americas and has served as interim CTO since February 2025.

He has nearly two decades of experience in engineering, technology and commercial leadership in the automotive sector, including senior posts at Forvia and Faurecia Clarion Electronics.

Clarios said van Laack will now lead the firm’s global engineering, advanced development, validation, and innovation activities and will focus on low-voltage system architecture.

Federico Morales-Zimmermann, VP and general manager of global OEM customers, products and engineering, said. “His deep industry expertise and ability to connect technology with customer needs will be critical as we continue to advance our innovation strategy.”
