February 27, 2026: GS Yuasa has revealed plans to expand traction battery operations and its distribution network across European markets.

The Japan-headquartered lead and lithium battery giant announced the move on February 25 — as it confirmed it would make its debut visit at the European intralogistics trade show LogiMAT 2026 in March in Germany.

The announcement came just weeks after the corporation’s president, Takashi Abe, said Yuasa was considering a fresh investment boost in production overseas — as reported by Batteries International last October.

Yuasa did not disclose details of its mooted European marketing push, but said the firm’s 2V tubular plate flooded design, which provides robust construction and durability for heavy-duty cyclic use, will be at the core of its range showcased at the March 24-26 event in Stuttgart.

Yuasa said the trade show — where its representatives will meet original equipment manufacturers, fleet operators, distributors and logistics professionals — will mark a key milestone in the firm’s expansion.

Michele Mineo, sales manager at Yuasa’s traction division in Italy, said LogiMAT would be an opportunity to showcase the company’s complete traction battery range for forklifts, pallet trucks, automated guided vehicles and modern warehouse equipment to a wider European audience.

Mineo said the range is available in DIN and BS dimensions and offers broad compatibility across equipment types and fleet requirements.

Yuasa also stressed the manufacturer’s sustainability credentials, with its batteries designed for a long service life and up to 98% recyclable.

Last November, Black Diamond Structures unveiled plans to work with Yuasa Industrial Battery Indonesia to cater for growing regional demand for motorcycle lead acid batteries.

Black Diamond is a developer and manufacturer of nanomaterial additives for lead acid and lithium batteries.
