February 2, 2023: Hoppecke’s new batteries production plant in Poland has secured ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification for quality and environmental management.
The Germany-based manufacturer announced the milestone on January 3, saying the accreditation was confirmation of the Poznan facility’s quality and environmental management.
Poznan is home to the manufacture of Hoppecke’s latest pure lead AGM batteries series, where production was launched last spring.
CEO Marc Zoellner said then that the plant would produce the company’s ‘grid Xtreme VR’ series — which he said represented “the highest level of development of today’s lead acid storage technologies”.
The new range of batteries are “optimally suited” as UPS batteries in data centres and for back-up in telecom applications, due to the battery’s design as a top and front terminal version, Hoppecke said.
Data centres and telecoms infrastructure in particular depend on high performance batteries and Poznan supplies those sectors.
Meanwhile, the company continues to manufacture its standard battery products at production sites in Hoppecke and Bremecketal in western Germany.
“ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization: needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system,” according to the ISO.
“ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system that an organization can use to enhance its environmental performance. ISO 14001:2015 is intended for use by an organization seeking to manage its environmental responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability”.
