Troubled Swiss energy storage group Leclanché has been granted another temporary exemption from publishing its annual report for 2025 ― the third such extension this year ― but trading of shares remains suspended.

Batteries International revealed earlier in August that Leclanché had asked regulators for the latest extension — saying it was not yet able to show its ability to operate as a going concern through at least June 2027.

On August 12, SIX Exchange Regulation (SER), which regulates and monitors exchange participants and issuers on the Swiss Stock Exchange, granted Leclanché’s request and gave the firm until August 31 to file the report.

In its latest request to SER, Leclanché had said discussions with a new strategic partner about potential additional funding and support to reinforce its going concern assessment through to June 2027 were taking longer than expected.

The firm said on August 13 it was confident of meeting the requirements for being treated and viewed as a going concern business.

In June 2025, Leclanché announced it was pushing ahead with efforts “to achieve and maintain a positive equity position” and to demonstrate the firm’s ability to continue as a going concern through at least June 2026.

The company had said previously that it was in a situation of negative equity as of the end of 2024.
