EnerSys has appointed Navi Grewal as chief digital, AI and information officer.
The lead and lithium battery major said on October 16 Grewal will lead the company’s global digital, AI, information technology, cyber security and enterprise data strategy.
Her responsibilities will include modernising global business systems, boosting digital systems and establishing an enterprise AI strategy, with an emphasis on secure and reliable technology operations, data and automation.
EnerSys said Grewal joins the company with nearly three decades of experience leading technology organisations and enterprise transformation across global industrial, manufacturing and consumer businesses. Her career to date has included posts at DuPont and the Exelon Corporation.
She will report to president and CEO Shawn O’Connell and be a member of the EnerSys executive leadership team.
O’Connell said: “As we continue executing our strategy to simplify operations, improve productivity and strengthen how we leverage technology, data and AI across the organisation, Navi will play an important role in helping us enhance decision-making and drive operational excellence across our business.”
EnerSys revealed earlier this year it was realigning its previous four operating units into a three-segment operating model to boost organisational focus and better serve customers.
The battery maker also announced refocused plans for its $500 million battery cell gigafactory in South Carolina for US defence needs — ending a tech partnership with French Li cells developer Verkor.
