August 3, 2023: Hoppecke lead battery tech has been supplied to power a solar-storage facility in Brazil’s Amazonas state.

Germany-based Hoppecke said on July 4 the project in the country’s northwest is one of a number launched by Brazil’s government to boost power supplies in isolated parts of the country.

Hoppecke delivered its sun-power VL 2-350 vented lead acid batteries that are at the heart of the SIGFI-system (individual electricity generation systems with intermittent sources).

In January, Hoppecke announced that its newly launched batteries production plant in Poland  secured ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification for quality and environmental management.

Poznan is home to the manufacture of Hoppecke’s latest pure lead AGM batteries series, where production was launched in spring 2022.

This May, Hoppecke said it would work with China’s Huayou Recycling Technology on lithium ion battery recycling development.
