January 30, 2025: European battery major Hoppecke has unveiled its new ‘Clean Lead R3’ branding to underscore the group’s development of advanced lead products.
R3 — signifying the ‘robust, resilient and recyclable’ properties of lead technology — underscores Hoppecke’s continuous development of lead and improved manufacturing processes, the company said.
Germany-headquartered Hoppecke said on January 22: “We’ve seen major advances in lithium ion batteries. There are also exciting developments in and up and coming technologies, such as sodium ion.
“However, lead acid batteries are as popular as ever. Performance, load capacity and reliability are qualities that have long been their hallmark. The latest generation of products offers all this and more.”
In 2022, Hoppecke announced plans to launch production of its latest pure lead AGM batteries series, ‘grid Xtreme VR’ — which CEO Marc Zoellner said represented “the highest level of development of today’s lead acid storage technologies”.
Last year, Hoppecke received its first platinum medal from business sustainability ratings firm EcoVadis.
The accolade put the company into the top 1% of all firms assessed by EcoVadis based on the organization’s reviews of business practices relating to the environment, ethics, labour and human rights and sustainable procurement.
