March 13, 2025: Indian energy storage start-up AmpereHour Energy said on March 12 it had raised $5 million in a Series ‘A’ funding round

Pune-based AmpereHour said in a LinkedIn post that it would use the fresh capital from the round, led by Avaana Capital with participation from UC Impower and existing angel investors, to accelerate deployment of its energy storage systems, expand manufacturing capabilities, enhance R&D and broaden its product offerings.

Founded in 2017, the company develops modular, scalable and what it says are software-led lithium ion battery energy storage systems.

The company claims its proprietary ELINA energy management software optimizes battery performance and enables flexible use across several applications.

Some 40MWh of BESS projects have already been commissioned using the firm’s technology, with about 1,000 MWh under development, AmpereHour said. The company offers turnkey engineering, procurement and construction services.

CEO and cofounder Ayush Misra said: “The current investment round is another vote of confidence in AmpereHour Energy’s expertise and ability to create technological innovation as well as deliver projects at scale.”
