July 3, 2025: Norway’s Morrow Technologies said on July 2 it would work with the Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory (SEEL) on speeding up development of LNMO battery cells.
Morrow, a subsidiary of its namesake battery manufacturer, said the partnership agreement was part of the EU’s ‘important projects of common European interest initiatives.
The partnership will focus on designing and validating advanced accelerated ageing protocols for LNMO battery cells — including moves to commercialise production.
Martin Gustavsson, SEEL research director, said: “By combining SEEL’s advanced test facilities with Morrow’s pioneering work on LNMO chemistry, we are confident we can set new standards for battery reliability and sustainability.”
Batteries International reported last January that Morrow Batteries had secured a loan facility equivalent to more than $13 million to help scale-up its battery manufacturing plans in Norway.
Morrow has said it aims to start up its first 1GWh LFP battery factory in Arendal in the second quarter of this year.
