Lead battery major Banner is venturing into the LFP market for the first time with the launch of the group’s Traction Bull Bloc Lithium product.
Austria-headquartered Banner said the newest addition to its portfolio, to be showcased at the Frankfurt Automechanika 2026 expo in September, is aimed at owners of motorhomes, travel trailers, boats, and stationary off-grid systems.
However, Banner said it remains true to its lead-powered roots and will also feature its Running Bull AGM and EFB batteries that have been developed specifically for vehicles with start-stop systems.
The new LFP series is being offered in five capacity levels and six battery types ranging from 50-150Ah.
Designed for deep-cycle applications, the new batteries achieve more than 3,000 cycles at an 80% DoD, Banner said. An integrated battery management system monitors cell voltages, current flow, and temperature, and protects against overcharging, deep discharge, short circuits, and overheating.
The 80Ah, 100Ah, and 150Ah models also feature a self-heating function, allowing the battery to be charged at temperatures as low as -20°C for year-round use outdoors.
Banner CEO Werner Töpfl said the new series responds to growing demand for high-performance, long-lasting, and smart energy storage solutions.
“Automechanika offers the ideal platform to present this innovation to an international audience of industry professionals for the first time.”
Batteries International reported last month that Banner was investing a “significant double-digit million-euro amount” in its facilities in Austria over the next four years.
The move is part of the firm’s ‘Agenda 2035’ business programme, focusing on longer-term profitability, efficiency and growth beyond existing markets.
