January 30, 2026: EnerSys has launched a new line-up of lead batteries designed for high-rate UPS applications in data-centers and critical power systems.

The lead and lithium major said its DataSafe HX530T and DataSafe HX600T batteries build on the pedigree of its DataSafe HX range, which has supported backup power systems requiring dependable performance and consistent capability.

The new models incorporate the firm’s thin plate pure lead tech for stronger performance and higher power density.

Mary Jo Mercer, senior director of data-center and utility at EnerSys, said data-centers are experiencing new operating conditions as power density increases, temperatures rise, and cycling patterns become more dynamic.

“DataSafe HX has performed reliably in these environments for many years. The new TPPL-based models give customers an additional choice for applications that may require a higher level of resilience while keeping the installation process consistent with the rest of the DataSafe HX battery family.”

HX530T and HX600T are engineered to support short-duration, high-rate UPS discharge requirements and maintain strong recharge performance between grid outages, EnerSys said.

Key features include lower internal resistance for improved recharge characteristics and comprise more than 99% of recyclable materials.

The new models are designed to integrate into existing UPS systems without changes to cabinets, racks, cabling, or installation procedures.

The batteries are available now in North America.
