US energy tech firm NeoVolta has announced a five-year primary LFP cells supply and manufacturing deal with South Korean battery maker SK On.
Under the terms of the agreement, announced on August 31, SK On will supply 9GWh of US-made LFP battery cells to NeoVolta subsidiary, NeoVolta Power, from 2027 through 2031. The subsidiary will also produce energy storage packs for sale to SK On.
Together, the initial cell-supply agreement and broader pack-manufacturing collaboration are expected to support up to 18GWh of combined activity between the companies.
SK On said the deal makes it a strategic supply chain partner and customer for NeoVolta Power’s domestic BESS manufacturing platform as demand for scalable power infrastructure grows across utility, commercial, industrial and AI datacentre markets.
Meanwhile, NeoVolta will evaluate potential additional production capacity at its Pendergrass facility in Georgia, including a second production line designed around pouch-format LFP cells.
Pendergrass is designed to manufacture BESS products for commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications.
SK On is expected to help accelerate production expansion at Pendergrass from its initially production line to a two-line manufacturing platform targeting up to 8GWh of annual BESS production capacity in 2028.
